about

A tune that I build over another piano sketch by Christian Löffler, around 2006 or 2007. This was always supposed to have vocals, but one evening when I felt very nostalgic I suddenly felt the urge to make this instrumental version with a long yearning guitar solo, despite the fact that I only had the digital output of my practise amp to work with. For some reason, I ended up liking this "demo-version" a whole lot more than the original idea, it just never fit in on any of the records I worked on over the years. Christian and I were born in the same small town in norther germany and his music always reminds me of the place where I was born, the baltic sea....hence the title. The percussion track consists of sampled and treated recordings of me drumming on a banjo.
